The Corporation of the City of Mississauga (the “City”) invites Bids from qualified consultants to provide Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) services. The City of Mississauga undertakes an extensive variety of projects on an annual basis to upgrade and maintain existing infrastructure systems. Many of these projects require the identification of existing utility systems and/or structures that are neither owned nor operated by the City. The intent in retaining a firm with specialized SUE expertise to achieve accuracy and economy in project-driven utility inventories and conflict assessment through the application of SUE techniques and procedures to ensure that utility conflicts will be reduced and all underground utility services are properly marked to alleviate potential damages, conflicts and contract claims. The current industry standard for the collection and depiction of existing utility data is CI/ASCE 38-02, “Standard Guideline for the Collection and Depiction of Existing Subsurface Utility Data”. The standard distinguishes various Quality Levels in which data can be collected and defines these levels as Quality Levels ‘D’, ‘C’, ‘B’ and ‘A’. |
