The City of Mississauga is seeking proposals to prepare engineering design drawings for two (2) arrangements of bus roof access platforms, one in Building C and one in Building D of the Edward J. Dowling Transit (EJDT) Facility that will include a statement of work, technical specifications and engineering-stamped design drawings. 

MiWay has committed to expanding their bus fleet while replacing existing buses with diesel-hybrid buses. The bus roof access platforms will allow maintenance staff to safely walk atop hybrid buses at the EJDT Facility to address maintenance needs. 

The Successful Bidder will need to take into consideration a number of physical constraints at the facility during the course of design. The platforms will need to fit within the width of the bus bays, while not impeding on the regular operations of the facility, including adjacent bus bays, fire safety paths, and hoist pedestals. Due to the expected delivery of new hybrid buses in 2023, ease of fabrication and optimizing lead times must be considered during design so that the platforms can be implemented in a relatively quick manner.
