| Description: |
The City requires several Suppliers to provide grass cutting and maintenance services throughout the City of Mississauga’s eleven (11) Wards. A Ward is defined as: A geographic area used by a municipality to organize services, administration, planning, communication, and representation of residents. It is anticipated that this contract will be for a five year terms with possible extension years. The Work will include boulevards, medians, traffic islands, roadside grassed areas, hydro corridors, and other designated municipal properties. Services include litter and debris removal, grass cutting, trimming around obstacles and landscape features, hard surface weed removal, leaf reduction, and tractor mowing operations at specified locations. More information is provided in Appendix C – Statement of Work.
The Contract will be split by Category as follows:
Category A – Boulevard Grass Cutting The City intends to award this Category by individual ward. A maximum of four (4) wards may be awarded to any one Bidder, provided the Bidder demonstrates sufficient staff, equipment, operational capacity, and experience performing work of similar size and scope to successfully service the awarded wards.
If a Bidder is the lowest compliant bidder in more than four (4) wards, the City reserves the right to determine which wards will be awarded in order to achieve the greatest overall value to the City.
The City reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to limit the number of wards awarded to a Bidder, where the City determines that the Bidder does not possess the necessary staffing resources, equipment, operational capacity, or demonstrated experience required to satisfactorily perform the work across multiple wards.
Any Supplier with additional capacity may be asked to cut a ward of another supplier if the original assigned supplier fails to complete the scheduled Work. Any additional cost that the City may encur will be charged back to the original defaulting supplier as per Section 35.5 of the Standard Terms and Conditions (Appendix B).
Category B – Tractor Cutting
This Category will be awarded to the lowest acceptable bidder for this Category. |
