The Corporation of the City of Mississauga (the “City”) invites Bids from qualified Bidders to develop a comprehensive Economic Development Strategy.

The successful Bidder (Consultant) will develop a new, ambitious, five-year, Economic Development Strategy (The Strategy) for the City of Mississauga. The Strategy will review and build upon the three core priorities of the current Economic Development Strategy, 2020-2025, and outline a set of actions to empower the City’s Economic Development Division to address the challenges, and advance the opportunities, that can propel Mississauga forward as a global leader in innovative, sustainable and inclusive growth. The Strategy must align with, and support progress towards, the City’s broader strategic goals while focusing on tangible and impactful actions that can be advanced by the Economic Development Division.

The City reserves the right to revise/update, add or delete work during the contract period based on the City’s changing requirements and availability of newer technology, methods, media options and practices as they become available. 

The Contract with the successful Bidder (Consultant) will be for a one (1) year term, starting on or about December 15, 2024 and ending on or around December 14, 2025. All project work is required to be completed by October 2025.  

Any additional work beyond the scope of the Statement of Work must be approved in writing by the City prior to work commencing. Payment will be in accordance with the hourly rates (supplementary pricing) submitted in the Consultant’s proposal. 

Total project price and supplementary pricing (hourly rates) shall remain firm for duration of the contract term. 

The contract may be extended at the sole discretion of the City, for up to an additional one (1) year period under the same terms, conditions and price. 

The estimated budget for this project is $200,000.00, excluding taxes.
