Description: 

The Corporation of the City of Mississauga (the “City”) invites Bids from qualified contractors for the restoration of two priority natural areas including invasive species control and the supply, planting, and maintenance of native trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants for the 2022- 2023 calendar years. It is expected that 2500 trees and shrubs will be planted throughout the duration of the contract, and 4 hectares containing invasive plants will be controlled.

Qualified Bidders are those that:

  1. Have been in the business of conducting ecological restoration projects, including native tree and shrub plantings, for a minimum of the last five (5) consecutive years;
  2. Have been in the business of completing projects that include pesticide treatment and removal of invasive plant species for ecological restoration for a minimum of the last three (3) consecutive years;
  3. Have been operating under the same corporate name for a minimum of the last three (3) years;
  4. Have relevant experience with contracts of comparable size, scope and complexity to that described in this RFP with a minimum of two (2) public agency (e.g. municipality or conservation authority) contracts in the last three (3) years;
  5. Pesticide Operator's License;
  6. Ability to supply native plants of regionally sourced stock/seed source from Southern Ontario; preference will be given to plant stock from Seed Zone 34; consideration will be given to Seed Zones 32, 33, and 37. business of completing projects that include pesticide treatment and removal of invasive plant species for ecological restoration for a minimum of the last three (3) consecutive years;
