Description: 

The Corporation of the City of Mississauga (the “City”) is seeking qualified service providers with sufficient staff and capacity to assist the City with watering services for young trees. 

These services will focus on the watering of young trees throughout the City’s urban forest. It is anticipated that approximately 17,000 trees will be watered over the Contract term; 7,200 in summer-fall of 2023, 5,036 in summer-fall of 2024 and 4,500 in summer-fall of 2025.   

To be considered, Bidders must demonstrate that they:

  • Are readily available to undertake Contract requirements;
  • Have been in the business of horticulture and/ or landscaping for a minimum of the last five (5) years;
  • Have relevant experience with contracts of similar scope and complexity with a minimum of one (1) municipal or public agency contract successfully completed within the last five (5) years;
  • Have GPS units set up on each vehicle, capable of generating reports and able to provide live access;
  • Have a minimum of one electronic device capable of accessing the internet, i.e. mobile phone, tablet or laptop, per crew;
  • Dedicated administrative staff to properly service and administer the Contract (as evidenced by organizational chart);
  • Health and safety program in place;
  • Must own or have exclusive use of requisite equipment to properly service the Contract.
