Description: 

The Corporation of the City of Mississauga is looking to procure construction services for Solar PV at MSEC, The Work for this contract comprises Supply, installation, and Commissioning of the rooftop PV array located at the Mississauga Sports & Entertainment Centre (MSEC) building, 5600 Rose Cherry Place, Mississauga, ON L5Z 4B6; and further identified as MSEC PV Array.

  • Contractor shall use the approved building permit included in this tender document.
  • Submittals must be submitted in accordance with Section 01 33 00 - submittal procedures, including construction schedule, Work Health and Safety Plan, Construction Management Plan, shop drawings for the equipment such as racking, switches, panelboards, circuit breakers, fuses, combiner boxes, DC/AC disconnects, metering equipment, etc.
  • Pre-construction Inspection: Before work begins, an initial roof, structural and electrical panel inspections must be carried out by the contractor, and any damage/deficiencies must be reported to the consultant. 
  • It is in the contractor’s scope to complete the aerial (drone) survey of the roofs before and after construction and share the report with the project team.
  • Delivery, storage, and handling of all products shall comply with manufacturer recommendations and shall prevent damage to products from dust, moisture, shock, impact, and other potential hazards. 
  • Contractor to furnish and install the PV system in accordance with the specifications and drawings.
  • Contractor shall provide a weekly progress report.
  • The contractor shall complete testing and commissioning on the installed PV array.
  • Notwithstanding any other provision of the Contract Documents, where the Contractor proposes an alternative product, material, equipment, system, or method (a “Substitution”) in lieu of that specified, such Substitution shall be deemed to be initiated solely by the Contractor and shall be subject to the Consultant’s review and the Owner’s acceptance. The Contractor shall be solely responsible for determining whether the proposed Substitution necessitates any revision, amendment, or reissuance of the building permit or any other approvals required by Authorities having Jurisdiction  including Alectra and Hydro One.. All cost and schedule recorvey shall be borne entirely by the Contractor. No adjustment shall be made to the Contract Price on account of a Contractor-initiated Substitution, including any costs arising from permit revisions or approvals. 
  • The Contractor shall, at all times, coordinate and schedule all site-related activities in consultation with Facility Operations and shall provide not less than three (3) weeks’ prior written notice of any such activities. Any work involving power transitions, interruptions, or localized panel shutdowns shall be strictly limited to after regular operating hours, unless otherwise expressly authorized in writing by Facility Operations.
