Description: 

The City of Mississauga (City) is seeking proposals from qualified Consultants to participate in a Request for Proposal (RFP), to provide their expertise in consultative services to assist the Corporate Human Resources Division to manage its extensive employee group benefits programs. As a true partner with the City, the consultant will proactively anticipate and advise the City on benefits opportunities and issues. 

The scope of services is described in the attached Statement of Work (SOW). The City will consider retaining these services on a fee for service basis. The City will assess the responses and determine the best overall solution for the City, at its sole discretion. 

Through their proposal, consultants shall demonstrate that they can apply their expertise to providing creativity in benefits plan design and development in the field of benefits. Tell us about your experience with proven proactive customized solutions for flexible and cost effective competitive plan designs that are applicable to the larger employer. In addition, consultants shall have access to relevant comparable benchmarking data and financial modelling tools to inform and support their practice. 

Benefits may be impacted by wellness initiatives and in that regard, the consultant will have the proven expertise in coordinating wellness programs based on benefit analysis to influence employees as program participants.   

In order to be considered for this opportunity, consultants must demonstrate that they have gained experience working with large organizations, including municipalities or other public and private sector corporations that provide employee benefits of a similar scale and nature to those provided by the City to its employees (both unionized and non-unionized environments). The expected budget is approximately $80,000 per year.  The term of the contract is for a five (5) year period with the option to extend for an additional three (3) year term.
