Description: 

Adamson Barn Building Envelope and Roof Renewal:

  • Replace siding (boards and battens) on East, West and North elevations;
  • Rebuild/replace cupola to match existing;
  • Replace large sliding double doors and threshold at the front with new to match, Replace damaged and missing floor boards at the front entrance; 
  • Repointing and sandblasting of deteriorated mortar joints around the barn perimeter (ground floor walls); 
  • Replace roof assembly, including but not limited to shingles, roof deck, soffit, fascia, and overhangs. This includes the roof assembly on the cupola as well;
  • Replace gutters and downspouts to promote positive drainage and water shedding away from the foundation and barn.

 

Adamson Barn Structural repairs:

  • Install four new steel columns with footings under existing beam;
  • Install two new sawn lumber columns on upper level (on top of the wood beam below) to support the roof;
  • Install new concrete slab-on-grade with compacted crushed stone material. Excavate existing floor as specified.

It is also within the contractor’s scope to coordinate temporary disconnect of light fixtures, utility meter (Alectra), and any other components that will be impacted by the work. It is also the contractor’s responsibility to remove the vines (ivy) prior to replacing the siding. Moving equipment from one to the other setup area shall be included in the price of the roof assembly replacement cost. Allowance for lift rental to complete siding, roof and cupola replacement should also be included in the base bid.

Out of Scope:

  • Ramp and retaining wall on the North elevation;
  • Landscaping.
