The Corporation of the City of Mississauga (the City) is seeking to pre-qualify vendors for the Supply and Planting of Street and Park Trees.  It is the City’s intent to short-list up to five (5) top-ranked vendors who will be invited to participate in Stage 2 of the procurement process, scheduled for Spring 2021. 

Prequalified vendors will also then be pre-qualified to participate in any other tree planting procurements issued by the Community Services Department, provided they have access to the requisite equipment for these other projects. Those vendors prequalified under this RFPQ need not submit prequalification information for the Supply and Planting of Park Playground and Shade Trees, which will be issued under separate procurement PRC002771.

Respondents must demonstrate and be able to provide evidence of the following mandatory qualifications:

• Respondents have been in the business of municipal tree planting or landscape contracting under the same corporate name for a minimum of the last five (5) years;
• Respondents have experience with multiple municipal tree planting contracts of similar size and scope to that described in Categories A-C, within the last five (5) years;
• Respondents own a nursery and can supply a minimum of 2500 trees (as described below) annually; and/or are affiliated with a regional nursery willing to supply and extend credit for at least 2500 trees annually;
• Principal and person who would be responsible for City contract (crew supervisor) must each have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience working for municipalities and/or public agencies and managing contracts for the supply, planting and upholding warranty for a minimum of 2500 trees annually for any one municipality;
• Crew lead hand must have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in municipal tree planting.
